One of my favorite parts about fall is bundling up in my coziest clothing. Whether that be a warm wool jacket, a puffy vest, a warm infinity scarf or fuzzy socks, I probably have at least one on at all times during the fall. But my all-time favorite fall weather clothing, by far, is definitely a super cozy sweater.

On those super cold mornings when you’re snuggled up in bed, dreading leaving the covers to get ready for the day, the thought of putting on one of those fall sweaters gets you up and out of bed faster than anything else.

There’s just something so comforting, and not to mention warm, about pulling that blanket-like top over your head.

Here are nine of this fall’s coziest sweaters to help you make it through those chilly days!

1) Turtleneck Sweater

Turtleneck sweaters have been popular in various styles throughout the years, so it should come as no surprise that it has landed on the list of this year’s must-have cozy sweaters.

The best thing about this sweater is that it’s warm not only through the arms and body like any other sweater, but also in the neck. That’s, like, four extra inches of warmth!

This fall, you’ll be able to find turtleneck sweaters in fitted styles or looser, flowy styles. My personal favorite is a looser style, like this H&M Wool-Blend Turtleneck Sweater, because it makes the sweater feel extra cozy with all that added room.

Either way, a turtleneck sweater is a must-have this fall.

2) Sweater Dress

Who says sweaters only work as tops? Step out of the box a little and wear a sweater dress for a complete outfit all in one.

Pair it with a pair of cozy tights and your favorite fall boots or booties and you’ll be able to handle the chilly fall weather in style! This one from Nasty Gal would be the perfect addition to your fall sweater collection.

3) Deep V-Neck Sweater

Sweaters can have the reputation of being dowdy and shapeless, but that’s not the case with a deep v-neck sweater. This style of sweater is super sexy and still lets you show some skin, while also keeping you warm.

You can find this plunging Uniq Deep V Sweater at Bloomingdale’s for a sexy addition to your fall wardrobe.

4) Pop of Color Sweater

Fall is known for the beautiful colors of leaves, but fall clothes tend to take on a less exciting approach and are more or less neutral tones.

But not all of your fall clothes have to stick to this standard. A fall sweater in a fun pop of color will brighten up your fall wardrobe and make those dreary fall days a bit more cheerful. This red-orange one from Dagmar is just what you need!

5) Cropped Sweater

Okay, I know what you’re probably thinking: “How does a cropped sweater make the list of coziest sweaters?” And trust me when I say, I hear you, a half of a sweater doesn’t sound all that warm or cozy. But I assure you that it can be!

Designers know that the cropped trend is huge right now, so they’re trying to make it work for fall too. Because of this, they’ve started making cropped sweaters in the warmest, coziest wool and cotton you can imagine.

For example, this fuzzy black cropped sweater from ASOS looks just as warm as any full length sweater.

6) Thick Cardigan Sweater

Come fall, I basically live in a thick cardigan sweater. What’s great about this sweater is that they’re usually so thick and cozy that they can replace a coat.

This one from Anthropologie will definitely keep you warm and comfortable on a cool, fall day. And not to mention, they’re the perfect sweater to wear when you’re lounging around the house.

7) Cable Knit Sweater

A cable knit sweater is a classic fall staple and definitely worth adding to your fall sweater collection. Get one, like this one from Rag and Bone, that’s slightly oversized.

Not only will it be super cozy, but it also allows you to wear your favorite chambray and flannel shirts underneath.

8) Striped Sweater

Much like a cable knit sweater, a striped sweater is a fall classic. Go for one that’s either fitted or loose (or both!) and you won’t be upset when you realize all the things you can wear it with.

Much like a striped t-shirt, a striped sweater is super versatile and great for layering. This Joe Fresh Stripe Slouchy Sweater is just what you need to wear under your favorite jacket or over your favorite button-downs.

9) Shirttail Sweater

A shirttail sweater is really versatile. It’s easy to dress up for the office or dress down for a casual day around the house. It also makes you look like you’re an all-star at layering, but really you don’t have to do any work at all.

The sweater and shirt are already attached, so think of it as layering for the lazy fashionista! Try this Merino Shirttail Sweater from J. Crew this fall and you won’t be upset.
